Bink is a real makeup/skincare/haircare junkie, and has been since Santa brought her a little kit to mix perfumes, all of which ended up smelling the same by the time she was done with them. (”Just a litttle more of this, and a litttle more of that!”).

Bink’s first foray into makeup was her mom’s Estée Lauder bright blue frosted cream eyeshadow. (It was a freebie.) She thought it was gorgeous, as it was the same color as the hot highschool football player’s car. The first eyeshadow she owned was a Maybelline palette of four shades of olive. She thought they were amazing at the time. (She likes to think her taste has improved since then.)

The first time she saw a Sephora, in Paris in 1998, she wept, because of the massive array of cosmetics all under one roof, but mostly because her pocket had just been picked at the Gard du Nord train station as she arrived from London, so she couldn’t buy anything. All those tantalizing bottles, tubes, and jars, and not a single franc with which to buy any! She wept again when the first Sephora store opened in the US, this time because she had ATM cards and cash!
